Nail file grit guide - The higher the number, the softer the grit of the nail file; the lower the number, the coarser the grit. 80/80 grit - Used for removing heavy nail enhancements or other rough products. However, remember not to over-file the nails, so avoid using 80 grit when the product is very thin or on our nails. 100 grit - Used for reducing length and shaping the sidewalls and free edges. 150 grit - Used for filing the nail surface and shaping the entire nail design. It can also be used to blend the nail tips with your natural nails. 180 grit - Used for outlining the entire nail shape; prepare the nail tips before using any products and during nail maintenance to shorten or shape the natural free edge. 240 grit - Used for smoothing the nail or the surface of the nails, especially before applying UV gel nails, as its fine grit can achieve a polishing effect. 320 grit - Some people prefer to use the finer 320 grit for filing the nail surface instead of the coarser 240 grit. It is extremely important to always remember this before first use: the sides/edges of a new nail file are very sharp and can easily cut the client's cuticles.
